The Signatures are in, WE ARE MOVING IN! Heres to all the new adventures that lay ahead!
On October 7th 2015, The Families at the Dump Foundation held the official Inauguration of the new complex. It was a very emotional and long awaited moment! We also had the pleasure of hearing from Irma and Javier – the very first family Winnie and Henry Giesbrecht worked with. We would like to thank The Paradise Village Foundation, The Sovernigo Family, and IJAS for making this a possibility!
The Christmas season shined a bit brighter for families of the "hope" neighborhood this week. In our annual Christmas Food Bag program, sponsored by the Paradise Village Foundation, mission volunteers distributed nutritous food bags packed with fruits and vegetables (watermelons, bananas, oranges, cucumbers, onions, chiles, tomatoes); meat and dariy (milk, eggs, chicken, tuna) and staples such as rice and beans to over 400 families last Wednesday.
The event lasted all day, and ran into the early evening.
The remaining food was donated to Regional Hospital emergency, Mezcales church and a small village outside of Pueto Vallarta, at the base of the mountains.
It all started 13 years ago ... the first ever Great Chili Cook-Off. Now it's bigger and better. Not just chili, but Taste of Nuevo too!
The Marina Nuevo Vallarta malecon will be the site of the first ever Taste of Nuevo Vallarta and 13th Annual Chili Cook-off, hosted by the Vallarta Yacht Club. It will be held on Saturday, December 7th from 4pm to 8pm.
Net proceeds will go to charity, evenly split between Familias de la Esperanza (Families at the Dump) and the Navy League Toys for Tots program.
